Bootstrappin!

Jason and I, along with several good friends, decided to start up a small charity this past year. We call ourselves the Bootstrap Foundation and our very first event was back in May. It was a crawfish boil and the almost $10, 000 in proceeds benefited injured oil field workers and their families. We just had our second event, the Bootstrap Fall Festival, this past weekend at a local family favorite...Dewberry Farms! This time we raised money for the Children's Neuroblastoma Foundation and I am happy to report another big success on the bootstrap belt. Who knew that giving back could be so much fun??

Sunday Funday!

The ladies of the LSC were in dire need of some girl time sooo we decided why not a Sunday Funday in good ol' Bastrop, Texas?? It was a beautiful fall day which we chose to fill to the brim with delicious onion rings, goofy group pictures, poor shopping choices, lots of laughs, and yummy milkshakes. And of course, we also had to sneek in a glass of wine and just a smidge of trespassing! There's nothing like some LSC time to make me feel young and completely immature again! : ) Thanks for a great day, guys...I sure do love ya!

Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner!

Jackie B. finished up his 1st soccer season of all time on Saturday! Amazingly, Coach Jason and his Red Hawks became quite the force to be reckoned with and ended up with only one loss on record. Pretty awesome, huh? I'm thinking that it must have been the superior coaching or at least the superior coaches' score keeping ability that gave us such a big leg up. : ) Although Jack was far from the most intense player on the field, we loved cheering him on through an awesome 1st go at this organized sports thing. It was hilarious to see him give his signature thumbs up for no apparent reason, decide it was much more effective to fly like a dragon instead of just simply run after the ball, and/or to suddenly come down with one of about a million stomach cramps. To say, our little guy is full of personality is quite the understatement! : ) We are all looking forward to many more seasons of learning, laughing, and of course TROPHIES! Way to go, Coach Jason and Jack Fish! We are proud as peacocks to be your #1 fans...

Happy Halloween!

With Jack's Halloween Parade checked off our to do list, we attacked the rest of the holiday weekend like it was a giant after party! We hit up Zoo Boo, won a hard fought soccer game, roller derbied the night away, and of course trick or treated till we just plain tuckered out. Needless to say, it was an awesome weekend filled with great weather and even better company!

Our Little Headliner!

Jack had his 2nd annual Halloween parade at school this past Friday! And although he is now quite the pro at these school concert things, it was still extra-special to have such a huge fan base this year. Gigi, Grandad, Uncle Adam, Heather, Mommy, Daddy, AND Hayesee were all there to cheer on our little performer! He did a great job despite his usual wardrobe malfunctions AND despite a very unusual tongue issue. We're still not quite sure what the problem was, but thankfully his teachers were able to resolve it with a simple drink of water back in the classroom. What a relief! : )

One of two cute little vikings I know

Teeny, tiny spidering it up

Hence, the tongue issue. : )

A true thespian knows the show must go on...

Camp Fisher!

This past Saturday was one of those rare Saturday nights where we had absolutely nothing going on and amazingly, Sunday was also one of those rare Sundays where we had absolutely nothing going on! So of course, all this down time made my mind begin to spin and of course, it obviously landed on a Fisher camp out-trampoline style! Duh. Luckily, Jason (the voice of reason) was able to reign me in a bit and we compromised with a Fisher camp out-bedroom floor style! The boys were so excited for this new indoorsy adventure and we weren't about to skimp on the details. Early Saturday morning, our little troupe headed to Target to stock up on all of the necessary supplies. Hayes picked out his very first sleeping bag, we all picked out a brand new movie, and then we loaded up on the proper rations...pizza, popcorn, Halloween cookies, and brownies! That afternoon, the guys took it upon themselves to fully tentify our bedroom and lo and behold we were in business! Next on the agenda? Not much...just a long night of campfire cuddling! And let me tell you, that hour and a half was just exactly how I had imagined it! : )
