Jack had his very first school program today! It was a Halloween parade to show off the kids' cute costumes and then a concert to show off some "spooky" songs that they had been practicing. Jack did awesome and it was so much fun to watch him in action. Well there wasn't exactly a ton of action, but he sure looked cute up there that's for sure. : ) Actually, Jason and I were so taken with his performance that we have decided to attend each and every one of these little shindigs until graduation day! Way to go, Jackie B!

Lucky in Love!
Jason and I were on the move again this past weekend! We made a trip to La Vernia, Texas for a couples shower in honor of our great friends, JR and Brent. It was a Vegas themed party out in the beautiful country of central Texas! Sound a little crazy? Nope...just a perfect party for a perfect match!

Happy Birthday, G-dad!
To finish off our "no plans" weekend, we headed to the Aquarium downtown to celebrate Grandad's birthday! It was a beautiful afternoon chock full of sharks, tigers, and ice cream! I don't know of much that could beat that combination and Grandad sure seemed to agree. He actually said that it was one of his very best birthday's on record! Somehow I'm doubting that it was the new shirt that made this day just right...

Doin' the Dew Once Again!
Even though this past weekend was supposed to be our only "no plans" weekend in October, the beautiful weather on Saturday made Dewberry Farms a no-brainer. The Welty's (and most everyone else in Houston) were able to join us for a great day farming it up! The boys had a blast feeding the goats, riding the corn train, bouncing on the air pocket, climbing the dirt piles, pushing the stroller, sliding down the pvc pipes, and just simply chasing each other in circles. What a fantastic and completely exhausting afternoon! Can't wait to go again next year!

A Couple of Rock Stars!
Jason mentioned a while back that if I ever needed an idea for a good present then I could always get him tickets to a U2 concert. I thanked him politely and tucked the extremely unsolicited information into the back of my mind. Well when I heard that U2 would be here in Houston, I figured what the heck...what a perfect surprise! I thought it would be fun if Amy and Peyton joined us too and we all agreed it would be even more fun to keep Jason in the dark about all the plans. Unfortunately after months of plotting our big surprise, Jason and I went on a date and lo and behold I spilled the beans. Something about me, secrets, and a glass of wine that just don't mix! Go figure. Even though it didn't end up being quite the surprise we were thinking, Jason and the rest of us had a great time! Totally worth dusting off the little black purse, throwing on the high heals, and shining up the big ol' hoop earrings for some rock & roll on a Wednesday! Especially when the only music that has been playing in your car for the past month has been one eyed, one horned flying purple people eater! And when I say playing, I mean over and over and over...

Our Lil' Punkins Big Party!
It was Hayesee's 1st b-day party on Saturday. I am pretty sure almost as soon as I knew he was going to be an October baby, I decided that we just had to, had to have a pumpkin patch party! Luckily the boys, my husband, and the weather agreed...the boys were troopers as we trudged from grocery store to pumpkin patch and back to grocery store gathering up the very best pumpkins, Jason gave me absolutely no push back as I sent him off to buy 20 bails of hay, and the weather decided to become a perfectly fall day just in the nick of time. It was just as I envisioned Bear's big day all those months ago and we all had a great time celebrating with friends and family. Hayes handled all the attention like a pro except, of course, at the all important cake time. As you will see below, he surprisingly decided to follow his brothers lead and cry his little heart out when faced with his 1st birthday cake. Don't worry though...he has since made a full recovery and has been mowing through the leftover cupcakes with a vengenance! Thanks to everyone for helping us celebrate our sweet punkin and happy birthday party day, Bear Rylan!! We love you too much!
