So it actually looks like all of our many months of finger crossing paid off because little Miss Kate is certifiably and unquestionably a dream baby!! She sleeps like a rock star and when I say rock star, I mean one that has just crashed after a 3 day bender. She has not a care in the world as she is shuffled from place to place. She doesn't mind having her diaper changed (or not) on any semi flat, semi clean surface. She takes the ear piercing squeals of her brothers in stride. She likes her bottles warm, but is easily convinced that quite a bit less than warm will do. She hardly acknowledges the army men flying past her face, the pretend snakes that stop to hiss in her ear, or the clumsy hugs of two rambunctious little boys. She is easy on the eyes and even easier with her smiles. She seems more than content to watch back to back episodes of "Dinosaur Train" and I have only noticed a slight smirk as she quietly observes my sad attempt at P90x...
She.Is.A.Dream.
And just because this is far from our first rodeo, I have no doubt that this post is completely going to jinx us. She will probably wake up tomorrow with the earliest onset of terrible two's EVER but hey, I figure sometimes you just have to give credit where credit is due. : )

A Beachin B-day!!
It was Gigi's birthday on Sunday and we decided that we shouldn't just celebrate, but we should celebrate island style! So we packed up the whole 'fam damily' and hit the open roads toward the beautiful beaches of Galveston. The weather was picture perfect and although we had more bumps along the way than usual (i.e. closed beaches, melted cupcakes, and forgotten camera batteries), a fabulous time was had by all and I even managed some cute pics out of the mix. : ) So happy, happy birthday our sweet Gigi! Thanks for sharing your big day with us...
Chocolate and sand...quite the yummy combination!
Kate thought she might look thinner from this angle : )

Bring on the Beads!
It's no secret that Gigi loves Kemah so when she found out that her beloved Kemah was having a Mardi Gras Parade, of course we just had to go and go quick! And even though I love to give Gigi a hard time about her little obsession, I have to admit that we had an absolute blast living it up on the boardwalk and enjoying the beautiful Spring day. It was the boys' first parade experience and I'm thinking that Jack may end up coming down with his very own obsession because he LOVED it! All I know is that every parade from here on out better have pirates, gold coins, and an enormous amount of beads or there will be one very disappointed little boy! Oh and lets not forget the twix bars or there will be TWO very disappointed little boys! : )
Jack was all about the salute
Bear was all about the carousal (until it started moving)Jack was all about the salute
I'm definitely all about this chubby monkey
My big boy...I mean pilot
The grandparents and the grandkids
A sweet kiss from sweet Bear
Check out Mr. Mardi Gras
Bear kept his eye on those pirates

Fender Benders!
1. Just because you think you already look pretty decent in your new black shirt, doesn't mean your new baby girl won't decide it would look better with some lovely spit up all down the back. And the kicker is she probably won't tell you about the new accessory until after you leave the house.
2. If you have 3 children under the age of 5, be prepared to possibly spend up to 30 minutes in the car/garage before you actually leave the house. And then be prepared to possibly stop the car up to 2 times before you actually leave the neighborhood.
3. Just because your husband authorizes a post-baby shopping spree, doesn't mean you should actually take him up on it right then and there. The ridiculous amount of breast milk that you may or may not leave on the dressing room floor can really dampen your festive mood...literally.
4. Diapers have many functions. I'll just leave it at that.
5. It seems a little pointless to spend the morning organizing the closets when halfway through your 4 year old tells you that your 2 year old has just lovingly blessed the bedroom floor with a golf ball sized turd.
6. Pretend hamster + a 4 yr olds' hair = terror and panic
7. If you put your 2 year old to bed and happen to pass by the door a few minutes later, don't be surprised to hear him mumbling furiously "bad mommy" over and over again.
8. If your 4 year old likes to go commando, his pants have a tendency to be big, and he only needs elevator music to bust a move...don't be shocked to see his bare bottom AND full frontal completely exposed on a routine trip to Oshmans.
9. If you take a 2 year old to buy new shoes, be prepared to possibly leave the store with him completely hysterical and BAREFOOT.
10. There is a strong possibility that you might have bitten off more than you can chew, if you have absolutely no idea that there is a hot dog bun, a cracker, and a small penguin on the hood of your car until it is way too late. : )
11. In case you were wondering...it's not such a great idea to send your son to school with two left shoes.

Aloha! Aloha! ALOHA!
Jason and I had quite the little getaway last weekend...to HAWAII!! Who in the heck goes a million miles away and leaves behind their 3 sweet little kiddos, especially when one of those kiddos is only 2 months old?? Amazingly enough, the answer is US! Months ago we found out that Jason's good buddy, Jorde, would be getting married in the not too shabby place of Kona, Hawaii. We decided that as long as everything was on the up and up with Katie-poo, we would throw caution to the wind and make the trip. Crazy, huh? Lucky for us, we knew Gigi and Grandad could handle our newly constructed 3 pack so even me, a normally enmeshed momma, was able to relax and really enjoy myself. We had an awesome time doing all of the things we used to take for granted...holding hands wherever was walked, catching up with ol' friends, staying out too late, sleeping in till we were good and ready to get up, reading magazines cover to cover, lounging on lawn chairs ALL DAY, and the list could go on and on. But of course, the best part of our trip to Hawaii? Yep, you guessed it...coming home. : )
