Brotherhood

Jason and I have wondered out loud lately about how having a brother will affect our boys' self esteem. I mean, it has to be a confidence booster to have someone follow you around repeating everything that you do and say. It has to make you feel pretty cool when you can do something so ridiculous as spit an acorn out of your mouth and it throws someone into complete hysterics over and over again. And it has to make you feel like quite the stud when you can ask your brother if he understands something and you have somehow taught him to respond with an obediant "yes sir."

So after talking about it for a full 2 seconds, we decided that this brotherhood thing is definitely giving Jack quite the jump start on this self worth issue. Of course, its not such a cut and dry answer for little brother blue. I mean, I am sure it makes him feel good when he does an especially good tiger growl and Jack looks at him approvingly. Or when Jack wants him right by his side at all times, saying over and over again "come on, Bear, come on." And it has got to be a good sign of future self love when you are almost always willing to share with your big bro, but almost always smart enough to keep the best one for yourself.
Then again...he is calling a three and a half year old "sir."
