Robert Lee

Jason and his family have owned land out in west Texas for generations. They affectionately call it 'Robert Lee' and it has been a very special place for everyone for a long time. Jason, his dad, and his PaPa have spent countless hours caring for and hunting on this rugged, but beautiful piece of property. Jason and his dad first started making the trip out to Robert Lee when he was 4 years old. He has so many great memories of his dad and their time at Robert Lee...sleeping in the back on top of all the bags during the long drive, having his first shotgun kick so badly it made him cry, shooting his first deer, and the list could go on and on. He has been on pins and needles, patiently waiting until his firstborn would finally be old enough to go and begin to appreciate the magic that is Robert Lee. Well, that day finally arrived last weekend. Jason, Jack, and Nina made the seven hour trip to quite possibly Jason's favorite spot in the world. My big time, little boy and his over the moon dad spent their time searching for dinosaur teeth, mowing the grass, opening gates, playing with the water hose, driving the back roads, and climbing giant dirt piles. They wore Wranglers, ate steak, took water-bottle baths, and slept in sleeping bags feet to feet. And they both smelled like two-day-old dirt and grime when they got home. : )
Let the magic begin...
